Animals Raised Locally are Healthier and Happier..

Fresh Eggs

The animals entering our grass fed beef program receive a vaccination for blackleg and are wormed one time in their life. They do not receive any other vaccinations or antibiotics.

They NEVER receive a hormone pellet implant. They are never fed any grain.

We harvest them during the late spring or fall while the grass is actively growing. Most are done during the fall as we believe that God has designed them to put on a little more fat in preparation for winter.

It is important to us to raise these animals as peacefully and gently as we know how.

Any cattle that are nervous and excitable tend to leave here quickly. Research has also shown that quieter animals tend to have more tender meat.

We anticipate having a few breeding heifers available for purchase each year.

In the 1970’s our original herd was started with a Polled Hereford base.

Barzonas, an unusual composite breed, were added in 1993. Barzonas are noted for their heat tolerance, mothering and intelligence.

In 2003 we purchased some Red Devon semen from a bull in New Zealand.

Most recently we have added several Red Angus females and a bull. We have continually been striving to improve the flavor and the tenderness desired by the consumer.

Our selections have been for animals that would work effectively in a strictly forage based operation, raise a calf every year and produce animals that would finish out with flavorful and tender beef.
